Great Western Park Church is seeking a part-time Church Administrator to provide organisational support across diary management, communications, records, events, and publications. This is a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (5 hours per week), with a pro-rata salary based on a full-time equivalent of £27,495 per annum (based on a 37.5-hour working week).
This role would be ideal for a practising Christian with strong administrative skills and a heart for supporting church life and community. This role can be carried out mostly remotely (i.e., working from home), however occasional in-person meetings with the Vicar or other leaders are expected.

Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role may include:
General Administration & Communication
- Work with the Vicar on a regular basis to prioritise diary appointments and provide general administrative support.
- Ensure that church notice boards are kept up to date and tidy.
- Act as first point of contact for all enquiries whether in person, or by phone, post, email etc.; ensuring they are dealt with politely and professionally and followed up by appropriate action.
Church Records, Compliance & Finance
- Deal with statutory documents, including statistical returns, registers, certificates and applications, ensuring that church records are kept up to date (e.g. church electoral roll, register of baptisms, marriage banns, record of fees).
- Maintain record of church software subscriptions (e.g., Churchsuite, WordPress, WorshipTools) and copyright licenses, ensuring timely payment.
- Maintain a file of PCC membership status, including with respect to time served and requirements for re-election.
- Support reimbursement of personal expenditure by church members/leaders, in collaboration with the Treasurer.
- Supporting safeguarding admin where appropriate (e.g. assisting with processing DBS applications and assisting the PSO in ensuring that safeguarding training has been completed).
Events, Publications & Communications
- Provide administrative support to the church for all matters relating to occasional offices: baptisms, funerals and weddings including dealing with enquiries, communications, bookings, registers, certificates, materials, payments
- Support booking of spaces for events, including regular (Community Café, Sunday Worship, Baby Singing) and occasional (Christmas, Easter, etc) events.
- Coordinate organisation of APCM and PCC meetings, including room hire, supporting timely production of an agenda, circulating relevant documents and information.
- Assist with keeping GWPC website and other digital means of communication up to date, including regular bulletins, social media and A Church Near You.
- Coordinate timely writing and publication of church rotas with individual leads of each area of service, including publication via ChurchSuite.
